Camera Shots
1. The opening intro brings us through the setting with different clips. 2. We meet Mr. Soprano with a shot through a statue’s legs, showing his interest. 3. The therapist scene starts with a 2 shot and then flips between the perspectives. 4. There is a panning shot when Mr. Soprano picks up the newspaper. 5. There is a POV shot at the end that shows what the wife is seeing. Sound 1. Intro song gives us a sort of vibe for the show. 2. There is no background music in the first scenes to maybe make us focus. 3. The first background music comes in 3 minutes or so into the clip, showing this is a flashback perhaps 4. We hear Mr. Soprano almost narrating his day. 5. The music in the kitchen gives us an idea of when this takes place. Editing 1. The beginning scene has no cuts when he first walks in. 2. The clip uses audio from another scene as an overlay on flashbacks. 3. The clip only uses cuts when necessary. 4. Nice transition from the girl looking at Soprano to the kitchen scene. Mise-en-cine 1. People wear clothes appropriate to the situation other than Soprano wearing a robe in the pool. 2. The kitchen set is not that modern. 3. We know this is the United States. 4. It is the morning due to the parents wearing robes and whatnot. 5. The nature and environment make me think this is somewhere northern. Meaning This is about Mr. Soprano telling a therapist about the events leading to his incident. He takes her through his day.
